10 Guns Stolen During Burglary Of CT Firearms Business

An investigation is underway after 10 handguns were stolen from a Connecticut firearms business during a burglary.

The incident occurred in Hartford County on Sunday, May 19, at Lock N Load Firearms, 1573 Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike, in Southington.

According to Lt. Keith Egan of the Southington Police, officers responded to Lock N' Load Firearms for a commercial burglary. Video captured from inside the business recorded suspects entering the gun store through the business's front window, activating the alarm.

The business has reported a total of 10 handguns stolen, Egan said.

Egan said shortly after the burglary, an officer located the vehicle used while fleeing the burglary, which was able to be tracked until later abandoned in Cheshire directly across from I-691 on Route 10.

Officers recovered one handgun left in the abandoned vehicle. Officers checked the area but were unsuccessful in locating the suspects.

Egan said Southington Police are working with the ATF and business owners to identify and track down the stolen firearms.
